Wearing the latest Panjabi or kameez and stepping in the new shoes for the first time for rounds of visits in the neighborhood friends, relatives to collect or give away eidie and burping after the heavy pulao dinner, that sounds like an ideal eid. But, weeks prior to the big day, sitting in the CNG in the peak shopping Dhaka traffic jam, suddenly, a thought of not making it home on Eid gives you shivers.
Yes, it is that time of the year when people of Dhaka flock to their home towns in hopes of reconnecting with loved ones. But during this season, there is always a rush for tickets. Thousands of people flock to train stations, and airports, or use their own cars, or rented vehicles to get away from the hustle and bustle of Dhaka life. Not everyone has their own vehicles to take them home, and public transportation services become over overloaded, as the demand for tickets and seats exceeds the supply by a large margin. Many are unable to get to their home towns in time to celebrate the end of the Holy Month of Ramadhan with their near and dear ones.
To help alleviate this situation and provide a solution, For the first time ever, IPDC Finance is launching Eid Ucchash campaign, in which followers of IPDC have a chance to win tickets to their hometown.
Followers are prompted to comment their Eid plans on the Eid campaign post on their FB official account, for a chance to win a trip to their home town with a friend. The districts where one can win a trip from Dhaka to the following places: Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Rangpur.
