In conversation with an industrial visionary of Bangladesh
IPDC Finance Limited, the first private financial institution of Bangladesh established in 1981, conducted the Fifth episode of 'OGROJ'. The episode, which was aired live on IPDC's official Facebook page, presented the narratives of a protagonist who has played an instrumental role in developing Bangladesh's economy.
Host Anis A. Khan steered an in-depth conversation with Anis Ud Dowla, one of the pioneers in nation-building, who has played a leading role in instilling undaunted dreams among aspiring entrepreneurs in post-independent Bangladesh.
Thirty-four years ago, Mr. Anis began his journey by taking over a multinational company, Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI). He adopted the values of a multinational company but held on to the flexibilities of an entrepreneur. Ensuring discipline and creating an ethical work culture was vital to him while building his empire. Hence, his company was the first in Bangladesh to secure the ISO 9001 certification, the international standard for quality management system.
Mr. Anis, who was recognized as the best businessman by DHL-The Daily Star in 2018, is currently the chairman of more than 30 organizations. Today, ACI is one of the leading industrial organizations in the country, a workplace for thousands of people and a brand of assurance for Bangladesh's people.
Speaking about the show, Mominul Islam, Managing Director, and CEO, IPDC Finance Limited, said, “It’s an honor to have M. Anis Ud Dowla unfold the intricate events that resulted in ACI becoming one of the leading industrial organizations of the country, generating employment for thousands of people and creating a brand of assurance for the people of Bangladesh."
