Author Selina Hossain on her literary voyage in IPDC 'OGROJ'.


The seventh episode of 'OGROJ' aired with one of the most prolific authors in Bangla literature, Selina Hossain.

The seventh episode of IPDC ‘OGROJ’ was held recently by IPDC Finance. The episode, which was aired live on IPDC's official Facebook page, presented the narratives of a protagonist who has played an instrumental role in developing Bangladesh's literary culture.

In this episode, the audience witnessed Anis A Khan, a prominent figure in the country's banking sector, steering an in-depth conversation with one of the most prolific authors in Bangla literature, Selina Hossain. 

Born on June 14, 1947, Selina Hossain is a socially conscious writer whose works are a profound account of the contemporary social and political crises and conflicts and the chronic cycles of life of the struggling masses. In her literary voyage, the eminent writer is seen bringing up issues on the human crisis, class discrimination, regionalism, women empowerment, and so on. 

During the show, the legend talks about the inspiration for her ingenuity and views. Based on the liberation war's true story, her classic creation 'Shark River Grenade' has preserved a lasting place in the readers' hearts. Her novels and short stories have been translated into English, Russian, French, Japanese, Korean, Finnish, and many languages of India.

After working at the Bangla Academy for a while, she retired as the Academy's Director. In 2014, Selina Hossain was appointed as the Chairman of the Bangladesh Shishu Academy. She is also the President of the Editorial Board of 'Bangabandhu Grandmaster, the first quiz app about the life and ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

OGROJ is a webinar series broadcasted live from the official IPDC Facebook page every first and third Thursday of the month. The episodes ruminate both professional and personal peaks and valleys of the guests' lives, with renowned host, Anis A Khan, a well-known banker who retired recently after serving the industry for nearly four decades. Distinctive icons from diverse sectors such as Finance, Economics, Business, Art, Culture, Education, and Media are seen flipping through the pages of their lives on the show.
